National Caucus of Environmental Legislators (NCEL) serves as a resource to lawmakers working to protect, conserve, and improve the natural and human environment.
With support from the Plastic Solutions Fund, NCEL aims to execute an ambitious multifaceted strategy that addresses the following: the need for legislators to advance policy solutions that go beyond single-use bans; the growing movement of industries seeking to maintain plastic production and management processes while creating false solutions to the plastic pollution crises; and the disconnect between a climate movement, social justice movement, and plastic pollution movement.
NCEL plans to inspire, inform, and equip state legislators with the knowledge, language, and tools needed to reshape systems to eliminate new plastic materials, create a culture of reuse, and improve recyclability and recycling of existing plastic materials.
