Pathway to a Plastic-Free Future

Greenpeace is a global, independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future.

They believe that the pathway to ending plastic pollution rests fully on the concept of a complete and total mindset shift. Therefore, with the support of Plastic Solutions Fund, Greenpeace has established a research project to commission detailed information on the efficacy (or lack thereof) of proposed industry solutions to plastic pollution, and into the various truly transformational solutions and materials that already exist or are currently in development.

Greenpeace is using this information and its analysis to develop a roadmap which will empower all organizations involved in the global plastic pollution movement to dramatically shift the consumer mindset. The roadmap will establish a set of benchmarks to transform our current “culture of convenience” into a culture of environmental awareness and thoughtful consumption, with the goal of creating a climate that will eventually lead to the elimination of single-use plastics.
