Covid-19 Rapid Response Fund for Grassroots Relief Grants

With Plastic Solutions Fund support, the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund will support the Permian Gulf Coast Coalition (PGC) — a coalition of more than 70 grassroots environmental justice groups in Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico.

Many coalition members represent communities at disproportionately high risk of contracting and dying from COVID-19. These frontline communities, both at risk and involved in specific campaigns to stop and slow the petrochemical buildout, will be directly supported with mutual-aid. This will include medical supplies and PPE, educational resources, groceries, and other essentials.

Earthworks is the fiscal sponsor for the fund, which will distribute small grants up to $3,000 to PGC member groups through a participatory grant-making process.
