Strengthening the Movement to Break Free from Plastic in Latin America

By supporting the diverse array of active Break Free From Plastic (BFFP) and GAIA members in Latin America, with Plastic Solution Fund support, this project will increase engagement in BFFP campaigns; deepen the knowledge and expertise of the global movement; and further zero waste goals of plastic reuse and reduction in the region.

GAIA and BFFP believe a truly global movement requires grassroots energy and activism from around the entire world. And as long as a single outlet exists for industry schemes to overproduce plastic and burden the rest of us with the cleanup bill—we are all at risk.

Only through fully supporting movement infrastructure in Latin America can we ensure that plastic waste has no escape route, forcing the upstream solutions that are ultimately the only way to reduce plastic production.
