Reducing Plastics Usage in Cambodia

Community Sanitation and Recycling Organization (CSARO) is a Cambodian NGO established in February of 1997 by a group of development workers committed to improving the environment and living conditions of urban poor in Cambodia.

This project uses CSARO’s extensive experience with community development, existing recycling centers, and government networks to leverage a significant change in plastic use and recycling in specific communities in the Kep and Kampot provinces of Cambodia. The ultimate goal of this project to increase awareness and leverage government policy to the point where the use of plastic packaging and other single-use disposable items is reduced by 40% in target areas.
