Organizing NJ Food Pantries’ Transition Away From Single-Use Plastic Bags to Systems of Reuse

The New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance (NJEJA) is an alliance of NJ organizations & individuals committed to creating healthy, sustainable & just communities by eliminating environmental injustices in low income & communities of color.

With the New Jersey single-use plastic bag ban taking effect, NJEJA will support food banks and pantries in their transition away from single-use plastic bags. NJEJA has been talking directly with food pantries in NJ communities to assess their needs.

Additionally, NJEJA will work with community-based organizations in Newark, Rahway, and Camden to help them incorporate plastics education into their outreach and advocacy efforts.
