BFFP Asia Pacific Movement Coordination

The #breakfreefromplastic movement is a global movement envisioning a future free from plastic pollution. Since its launch in 2016, more than 11,000 organizations and individual supporters from across the world have joined the movement to demand massive reductions in single-use plastics and to push for lasting solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.

BFFP, with support from Plastic Solutions Fund, has a robust presence in Asia with many landmarks already achieved, and is expanding its presence in India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other countries to be determined. The primary objective of this project is to build a vibrant, inclusive and empowered movement along with strong national alliances, and actively engage BFFP membership across the Asia Pacific region.

With Tagaytay 2.0 as a reference document and with necessary flexibility to adjust to the effects of the pandemic, the BFFP coordination team will ensure that the expertise and focus brought to the table by individual organizations all dovetail to reinforce the overall regional plan. This will be done through three core strategies: the building of individual national movements, the strengthening of the combined regional movement, and the successful execution of the region’s priority campaigns.
